Who doesn’t like spooky season? I made this brand video for OETA to inspire kids’ imaginations and appeal to adults’ nostalgia of PBS shows they love.
I enjoy working with my hands and bring my graphic design experience into the physical world. In this instance, I designed stencils for each monster/letter and meticulously carved each pumpkin. I challenged my skills in video production by setting up my own lights, using two camera angles for the first time, and editing multiple versions for various applications.
Although it was challenging (and took much longer than I anticipated), I am proud of my decision to make the effort to film the carving process. Pulling back the curtain reinforces PBS’ values of creativity and DIY.
Paired with whimsical music from Sigur Rós, this video positions OETA as a local and trusted source for creative inspiration.
